Pre-school Sessions

As a priority it is our policy to give pre-school session places to children who have regularly attended our baby and toddler sessions.

We offer flexible pre-school sessions for children aged 2 years 9 months until they reach statutory school age. For children just starting with us we offer 2 hours sessions to help them settle in. Once settled we offer a range of sessions from 3 hours to 6 hours in length including the option to bring a packed lunch.

Pre-school education is not compulsory and parents are able to choose the number of sessions they feel are appropriate for their child with guidance from staff. However, as a minimum we recommend children attend at least two sessions a week.

Sessions for all ages are provided between the hours of 9am and 12pm (Mondays) and 9am to 3pm (Tuesday to Fridays). Sessions are only provided during term-time. Coalway Kids Club, also located in the grounds of Coalway Infants School, provides session for children aged 3 and over outside of these hours and during school holidays. Tel: 01594 839103.

Our hourly rate for all pre-school sessions is £4 hour. From the term after your child's 3rd birthday you can claim upto 15 hours of FREE childcare a week (during term-time) regardless of income through Gloucestershire County Council's Free for 3 & 4 year olds funding scheme (previously known as the Nursery Education Fund). Childcare fees for up to 15 hours a week (up to 6 hours a day) will be paid at the start of the school term. We will ask you to complete a simple form (called a Parent/Guardian Declaration Form). Once completed the money is paid directly to us by Gloucestershire County Council so you don’t have to manage it yourself. For more information about the Free for 3 & 4 year olds funding click here.
